29 March 2025 College Retreat
All undergraduate and graduate college students are invited to participate in our popular bi-annual College Retreat on Saturday, March 29, from 9:00 a.m - 3:30 p.m.
The College retreat is an intensive day of meditation with your peers in a non-threatening environment in a serenely lovely dharma room. Included is instruction, a dharma talk, a few hours of sitting meditation in 30 minute segments alternating with 10 minutes of walking meditation, a delicious vegetarian lunch, a walk outside, and a personal kong-an session. A rare and precious opportunity for personal growth and insight Please register online by Thursday, March 27 at 6:00 PM. The price for this retreat is $35 and includes a delicious vegetarian lunch. This retreat will be led by Matt Keeler, JDPSN. He began practicing Zen meditation in the late 80’s and was a resident of the Chogye International Zen Center in New York for 7 years. He received inka from Zen Master Wu Kwang at the Providence Zen Center. Matt directed the Family Program at the Redding Center for Mindfulness and Insight Meditation in CT for 7 years. He currently teaches at Kwan Um Zen Centers in the Northeast US and is the Guiding Teacher of the Pittsburgh Zen Center. Matt is a Special Ed paraprofessional at Staples High School in Westport CT and a musician in the Greater NYC area. He previously worked as a math and science teacher. His interests include Yoga, Chi-gung, Marshall Rosenberg's Nonviolent Communication, and building community. Matt lives in Ridgefield, CT with his 21 yr. old son.
